Monitoring Multiple RAID Subsystems Using Central Management Utility
Three (3) status icons indicate Root Agent status:
- When a Root Agent is connected
- When
Central Managment is gathering array information through a Root Agent
- When a Root Agent is disconnected or is unavailable (e.g., change of IP address)
Once Central Management connects to one or more Root Agents, RAID subsystems managed by the Root Agent will be displayed on the screen.
A blue chassis icon indicates the subsystem is running smoothly.

A red chassis icon indicates a system faults. To view the errors, move your cursor to the chassis icon to display a summary of messages as shown below:

If you want more details about system faults, right-click on the chassis icon and select the "Event log" command.
Selecting the "Connect" command will begin a SANWatch management session with the subsystem. You may then check on the information screen to find out the causes of system faults.

NOTE: If you cannot start a Root Agent on a Windows platform after ruling out connection or firewall problems, you may try to manually locate, disable, and restart a Root Agent under Windows Computer Management -> Service and Application -> Services. The management utility can be started by right-clicking the My Computer icon on your desktop.
