Activate Data Service ( Snapshot)
Requirements for Using Data Service (Snapshot):
1. SANWatch installed on a direct-attached data server using the 2nd installation scheme in the Custom mode [Stand-alone (on Host)].
The server communicates with the RAID system using in-band protocols. In this mode, the installed RAID agents will serve as flush agents so that scheduled snapshots can take place after flushing OS/application cache.
2. A remote console with the RAID system is also possible by installing SANWatch both on the direct-attached server and on the remote station.
The RAID agents running on data host function as flush agents and also as the bridging element between the management interface and RAID firmware.
