Auto Discovery

The innovative Auto Discovery feature provides quick, instant agent search function. If this option is enabled, the system will automatically search for the available agents and add them into agent list without manually key-in an individual IP address.

The first time you start the SANWatch program, you will be required to enter an IP range, and SANWatch will scan for connected arrays within the range. You can use the Auto Discovery button to add another IP range.

Step 1: On SANWatch's initial portal page, click on the Auto Discovery button to assign an IP range.

Step 2: Enter a range of IP addresses by entering the start and end addresses in the dialog box. You may modify an existing IP range by clicking the Modify button or delete an existing IP range by clicking the Delete button. Click on the Cancel button to cancel any action you made in the Auto Discovery dialog box and return to the Auto Discovery main screen.

Step 3: Click the Configure button to add a new IP range.

Step 4: Click the Finish button to close this dialog box and return to the Auto Discovery option main screen.

Step 5: IP scan will start automatically, and after a few minutes the scanned IPs will appear in SANWatch's Connection View portion. You may also use this Auto Discovery button as a refresh button if new arrays are added in the local network.

When you start the SANWatch software next time, the program will automatically scan and display connected RAID systems according to the IP ranges you previously set.
