Host Side Parameters:

Each function is executed by a two-step procedure: Click to select a desired value from the pull-down menu and click the Apply button for the configuration to take effect. Some configuration changes may only take effect after resetting the subsystem.

See below for configuration with Host Side Parameters, click here for Drive Side and here for Disk-Array Parameters.

Maximum Queued I/O Count
: This function allows you to configure the maximum number of I/O queue the controller can accept from the host computer.

LUNs per Host SCSI ID: This determines how many LUN numbers will be available with each host bus ID. The maximum number per ID is 32.

Login Authentication with CHAP: This option allows you to enable or disable the login authentication with the Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) function. CHAP enables the username and password to be encrypted against eavesdroppers. (Note: This function is only applicable on EonStor iSCSI series RAID subsystems.)

Max. Concurrent Host-LUN Connection: The configuration option adjusts the internal resources for use with a number of current host nexus. The default is “4.”

Tag Reserved per Host-LUN Connection: Each nexus has a number of tags reserved. This setting ensures that the controller will accept at least 32 (the default setting) tags per nexus. The controller will be able to accept more than that as long as the controller internal resources allow.

Peripheral Device Type: With in-band access to a brand new array, there is no association between disk drive configurations and the logical ID/LUN on the host bus. If users want to start configuring a RAID system from an application server before any RAID configuration is made, the host will not be able to “see” the RAID subsystem. In order for a host to “see” the subsystem, it will be necessary to define the controller as a peripheral device.Different host operating systems require different adjustments. See User's Manual for suggested Peripheral Device Type, Peripheral Device Qualifier and Device Supports Removable Media for your host operating system.

Peripheral Device Qualifier: External devices (including a RAID subsystem; from the view of operation on an application server or management PC) require communication links with a management computer for device monitoring and administration. See User's Manual for suggested Peripheral Device Type, Peripheral Device Qualifier and Device Supports Removable Media for your host operating system.

Device Supports Removable Media: See User's Manual for suggest Peripheral Device Type, Peripheral Device Qualifier and Device Supports Removable Media for your host operating system.

LUN Applicability: Different "LUN applicability" selections are available: "LUN-0's only," and "All undefined LUNs."

Cylinder/Head/Sector: Drive capacity is decided by the number of blocks. For some operating systems (Sun Solaris, for example) the capacity of a drive is determined by the cylinder/head/sector count. Please refer to the related documents provided with your operating system for more information.
