Establishing a Management Session with a RAID System

To connect to a RAID system, left-click to select a RAID system from SANWatch's Connection View and right-click to display the "Manage Subsystem" command.

For a management session through an in-band connection, management access will be automatically directed through the in-band agent on the DAS server even you select a RAID system icon.

A conneciton wizard will prompt.

Enable SSL: An SSL digital certificate is an electronic file that uniquely identifies individuals and servers. Digital certificates allow the client (Web browser) to authenticate the server prior to establishing an SSL session. If you have an SSL certificate, you may enable it by a click on this check box.

User name: Three (3) access levels are available: Configuration, Maintenance, or Information.

Password: enter the pre-assigned password. Password is configurable in the “Configuration Parameters” under the Configuration category. A password is specific to each RAID system.

Click OK button to access the subsystem or click Cancel button to exit the connection window.

To manage an array, right-click on the array icon and select an authorized access level when the connection wizard starts. Enter a password when it has been set. You may add or delete an IP segment on SANWath's initial portal window or in the Notification Manager utility.
