Log In: Authorization Access Levels

The Manager's screen has a navigation tree panel that provides (3) levels of access to functional windows to prevent unauthorized access to array configuration:

Information: An Information login can only access the first level, Information. It's a view only access. This access level allows you to check array status and event messages.

Maintenance: A Maintenance (user) login can access the second level, the Maintenance tasks. This access level allows you to perform array maintenance operations.

Configuration
: The Configuration (administrator) login has access rights to all three levels, Configuration, Maintenance, and Information. This access level allows you to configure all options, e.g, to create or delete an existing array.

The default password for Information categories is 1234. The Maintenance and Configuration access levels come with no password at the first time.

Passwords for the two access levels can be set in the Configuration category under the “Configuration Parameters” “Password” settings.

Data Service License Key:

You can activate the 30-day trial use of Data Service functionality by clicking on the License button on your SANWatch console with a RAID subsystem. (A first-time login will also bring out the License Key window) A License Key window will prompt. You may then press the Generate License Apply File button to generate a License application file, mail it to Infortrend's support, your vendor, or visit our VIP room website (if you are a certified VIP member) to proceed with purchasing the official use of the Data Service.

When you receive the license key file from Infortrend, locate and download the license file to firmware, press the activate button, and then reset the subsystem to begin using the Data Service functionality.

NOTE: If you are connecting a direct-attached data host using in-band connectivity to manage a RAID system, enter the data host's IP address instead of the RAID controller's IP address.

NOTE: If you are running older firmware, e.g., 3.48, you need to upgrade your firmware to a SANWatch-compatible version. Return the Apply file for a trial use or purchasing an official license key.
