Connection Problems :
In-band Connection Problem:
Some configuration changes, such as Peripheral Device Settings, or Unmapping the only logical drive can temporarily fail the SANWatch console connection.
Under a Windows platform you can right-click on the My Computer desktop icon, click on Manage to start the Computer Management interface.
Click on Services and Application -> Services. Click to select Infortrend's Management Host Agents and Data Host agent on the agent list. Use the Restart button on the menu bar to restart the in-band connection.

NOTE: Make sure you are not running the previous RAID agents brought by the previous RAIDWatch/SANWatch versions. They may not be compatible.
NOTE: Using in-band connection, make sure you properly install the Data Host Agent on a direct-attached data host using the Custom mode installation scheme.
Network Connection Concerns
- ** On Linux, use the “modeprobe –v sg” command to start SCSI generic service to facilitate in-band connection.
- Windows Messaging (MAPI) for Windows 2003/XP if fax notification support is needed.
- TCP/IP with a valid IP assigned to each controller/subsystem. Consult your network administrator for configuration of network IPs. A public IP or the use of VPN will be necessary if you prefer a remote session with the arrays located within a private network.
- Some network security measures may prevent you from querying array statuses. For example, your Windows Firewall can disable the access from your Management Host agent to individual arrays.
- You can configure exceptional access in your firewall utility using exception rules to allow Java agent negotiation.
- Below are the port numbers for use if you need to manually configure secure access for your firewall port access configuration:
- SSL port for connecting RAID.
- Non-SSL port for connecting RAID.
- Port for receiving the auto discovery responses.
- Management Host Agent (TCP/IP)
- Port for listening to the Notification Manager requests.
- Port for sync Management Host Agent redundant configuration.
- Port for receiving the auto discovery responses.
- Port for listening to the SANWatch Access Portal requests.
- Data Host Agent (in-band)
- SSL port for a console to connect.
- Non-SSL port for a console to connect.
- Port for listening to the auto discovery requests.
- Port for listening to VSS requests.
- Port for listening to MPIO requests.
- Both should be enabled for all modules.
