| Team Fortress Classic, usually shortened to TFC, is a first person shooter (FPS) modification for the FPS Half-Life, made by Valve Software. Team Fortress (as it used to be called), was first released back in 1996 by Australian based Team Fortress Software. As more and more people downloaded it (somewhere in the millions), it became the most popular online action game. Team Fortress 1.5 (as it was called later on) was a team deathmatch mod for Half-Life, and used WON (World Opponents Network) to handle its servers. As TF 1.5 moved to Steam back in 2003 and even before that, the majority of people refered to it as Team Fortress Classic. The name stuck and has been called that ever since. |
